Code of Conduct

These Codes of Conduct apply to all members of Bangalow Soccer Club Inc. (“the Club”). Breaches may result in disciplinary action under the Club’s By-Laws and Constitution.

Players’ Code of Conduct

As a player of Bangalow Soccer Club, I will:

  • Play by the rules and within the spirit of the game.
  • Respect referees, officials, coaches, teammates and opponents at all times.
  • Accept decisions of referees without argument.
  • Control my temper and never engage in abusive, threatening or violent behaviour.
  • Give my best effort at training and games.
  • Wear the correct Club uniform with pride.
  • Support my teammates, win or lose.
  • Avoid behaviour that brings the Club, the game or myself into disrepute.

Parents’ and Spectators’ Code of Conduct

As a parent or spectator of Bangalow Soccer Club, I will:

  • Encourage children to play for enjoyment, teamwork and personal development.
  • Respect referees, coaches, players and officials.
  • Never use abusive or offensive language or behaviour.
  • Support all players equally, regardless of ability, gender or background.
  • Let the coach do the coaching and avoid shouting instructions from the sideline.
  • Be a positive role model at all times.
  • Help when rostered for canteen, field set-up or other volunteer duties.
  • Remember that children participate for fun, not for parents’ or spectators’ expectations.

Coaches’ and Managers’ Code of Conduct 

As a coach or manager of Bangalow Soccer Club, I will:

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every player.
  • Provide a safe, positive and inclusive environment.
  • Be fair, consistent and reasonable in my decisions.
  • Encourage participation, effort and enjoyment — not just results.
  • Give all players fair and reasonable game time (particularly in MiniRoos and junior age groups). 
  • Lead by example in behaviour, language and respect for referees.
  • Promote development through age-appropriate coaching.
  • Register as a Coach via PlayFootball Platform
  • Obtain and maintain required accreditation and a valid Working With Children Check.
  • Support the policies and decisions of the Club and governing bodies.

Club Officials’ Code of Conduct

As a committee member, volunteer, or official of Bangalow Soccer Club, I will:

  • Act honestly, fairly and in the best interests of the Club and its members.
  • Treat all members with respect and without discrimination.
  • Be transparent and accountable in financial and administrative matters.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest where possible, and declare them when they arise.
  • Support and enforce the Club’s Constitution and Codes of Conduct.
  • Promote the game of soccer as inclusive, family-friendly and community-driven.

Disciplinary Action 

  • Breaches of these Codes may be referred to the Committee.
  • The Committee may impose sanctions ranging from warnings to suspension or expulsion, in line with the Club Constitution
  • Members have the right to appeal disciplinary decisions as set out in the Constitution.
